América Multimedia: 2025 Results, Expansion Plans & New Projects

América Multimedia: 2025 Results, Expansion Plans & New Projects

March 15, 2026 Laura Fontaine - Entertainment Editor Entertainment

América Multimedia is experiencing a surge in digital engagement and expanding its content offerings, including a significant partnership with Brazilian media giant TV Globo. The company, led by Fernando Muñiz, reported substantial growth in 2025, fueled by its streaming platform tvGO and a strategic focus on digital expansion. This comes after a year of consolidation following the acquisition of Panamericana and Latina, signaling a modern era for the Peruvian media group.

tvGO’s Rapid User Growth

tvGO, América Multimedia’s free streaming platform, has seen remarkable user growth, jumping from approximately 6,000 users to 2.6 million active users (with over 10 million registered) who spend at least 30 minutes consuming content. This growth is a key driver of the company’s positive financial performance in 2025, which saw a double-digit increase in revenue. The platform offers a diverse range of exclusive content, catering to a broad audience. You can find the current programming schedule on tvGO’s website.

Boom App Targets Niche Audiences, Expands into Politics

The Boom app, focused on non-traditional sports, is likewise gaining traction, with over 200,000 active monthly users. Currently popular for esports like Dota, Boom is strategically expanding its content to include debate spaces for young people, particularly in the context of the current election cycle. The goal for 2026 is to reach 500,000 users, with a focus on generating original content, including podcasts and sports programs related to the upcoming World Cup. América Multimedia aims to have 45% of the app’s content be original by the end of the year.

Digital Revenue on the Rise

América Multimedia anticipates that digital platforms will contribute 20% of its overall revenue within three years. In 2025, non-traditional revenue sources (including Boom and tvGO, as well as format sales) accounted for 15% of income, and the company projects this to rise to 25% in 2026, boosted by events like the World Cup. This shift reflects a broader industry trend, as traditional advertising revenue faces challenges. The company is also actively selling its content formats internationally, with a deal already closed in Italy for “La Subasta” and discussions underway for sales in Mexico and Central America.

Co-Productions with TV Globo

A major development is the agreement with TV Globo to co-produce three novelas. These projects will be handled by Del Barrio Producciones and are expected to begin production next month, with each novela consisting of approximately 60 episodes. This partnership represents a significant step in América Multimedia’s international expansion strategy. This collaboration builds on América’s existing international footprint, as “Esto es Guerra” is also in the process of being licensed to television networks in the United States.

Expanding Content Library and Format Acquisitions

América Multimedia is also exploring new format acquisitions from countries like the Netherlands, England, the United States, and Colombia, with several options under consideration for the second half of 2026. The company’s production house, Kapow (of which América Multimedia owns 51%), is preparing for a fourth season of “Envidiosas,” which has found success on streaming platforms. Kapow is also developing at least five new projects for Amazon, Netflix, and Disney. The success of “Envidiosas” has clearly positioned Kapow as a valuable asset in the competitive streaming landscape. More on Kapow’s success can be found here.

Strengthening América TV’s Core Business

Despite the focus on digital platforms, América TV remains the core business. The channel saw an increase in viewership in 2025, driven by major sporting events like the Copa del Rey and the Club World Cup. The Copa del Rey will continue to be broadcast on the channel, along with the upcoming World Cup. In January 2026, the channel reached a peak of 378,000 viewers per minute, even amidst the digital transition. The company is confident in its ability to maintain and grow its audience with a mix of entertainment, political, and informative programming.

Competition Heats Up in the Peruvian Media Landscape

The recent changes in ownership of Panamericana Televisión and Latina are expected to intensify competition in the Peruvian media market. América Multimedia believes this competition will be beneficial for the industry, forcing companies to innovate and improve their offerings. Susana Umbert, the new owner of Panamericana, brings extensive television experience, although Gustavo and Tomás Yankelevich, who acquired Latina, have a strong track record in the industry through their work with Telefe in Argentina. The arrival of these experienced players is seen as a positive development for the Peruvian television industry. More information on the acquisition of Latina TV can be found here.

Looking Ahead: A Competitive Future

América Multimedia is well-positioned to compete in the evolving media landscape, with a strong focus on digital growth, international partnerships, and a commitment to producing high-quality content. The company’s success in increasing viewership on its core television channel, combined with the rapid growth of its digital platforms, demonstrates its ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic market. The company’s strategy of investing in original content and expanding its international reach is expected to drive continued growth in the years to come.
