Paul Anka is once again attempting to sell his Los Angeles-area mansion, a property that’s been his primary residence for the past 16 years. The singer-songwriter initially listed the estate a few years ago, but it’s back on the market with a slightly adjusted price.
The Westlake Village property is now listed for $8.99 million, a reduction from the previous asking price of $10 million. Anka originally purchased the estate in 2007 for just under $4 million, according to PropertyShark records.
A Sherwood Country Club Estate
Located within the exclusive Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, California, the French-inspired mansion sits on nearly six acres of gated land. The estate offers views of the clubhouse and the Santa Monica Mountains, approximately 40 miles from downtown Los Angeles. Recent renovations include custom entry doors, dark-stained hardwood floors, and refinished marble surfaces.
The property’s landscaping has also been updated to enhance the views of the Sherwood Country Club golf course, designed by Jack Nicklaus. Robb Report notes the estate’s elevated perch provides gorgeous mountain vistas.
From “Diana” to “My Way” and Beyond
Anka, 82, is a Canadian-American singer, songwriter, and actor best known for hits like “Put Your Head on My Shoulder” and “Diana.” He also penned the English lyrics to Frank Sinatra’s iconic song, “My Way.” He’s had a prolific career, boasting over 900 songs to his credit and an estimated net worth exceeding $80 million. He recently released a new album, “Inspirations of Life and Love,” in February.
Inside the Mansion
The approximately 7,800-square-foot residence features a semi-open layout with stone floors and high ceilings. It includes a chef’s kitchen, a billiard room, and a professional recording studio. The home boasts four en-suite bedrooms, plus two additional bathrooms, and a main suite with an office, dressing room, and soaking tub. Several rooms showcase Anka’s collection of gold records. Fancy Pants Homes details the classical elegance and stunning views of the property.
Anka explained to the New York Post that he delayed relisting the property to avoid disrupting his work on the new album, but now feels it’s the “perfect time” to put the mansion back on the market. He plans to move to Nevada whereas maintaining a smaller home in Los Angeles.
