The Chilean National Television Council (CNTV) has officially begun investigating a complaint filed by comedian Yamila Reyna against the entertainment program ‘Primer Plano’, according to the actress’s statements on social media.

Reyna, currently navigating a difficult legal process following allegations of domestic violence against her former partner, singer Américo, brought the issue to the Consejo Nacional de Televisión.

The complaint centers around the program’s broadcast of a screenshot of Reyna’s police report filed against Américo, revealing sensitive details about the alleged assault shortly after news of their separation became public.

In a post on her Instagram account, Reyna stated: “This represents a confidential document to which only the parties have access. Without prejudice to any criminal or administrative responsibilities, which I have also requested directly in the courts, the exhibition constitutes a serious violation of my privacy and constitutes an evident revictimization.”

“There is no public interest to justify such a leak and it is a bad sign for all victims of domestic violence who must trust that the judicial system as a whole must protect them,” she concluded alongside an image of the CNTV website.

Following the reported incident, Reyna stepped back from public life, even canceling comedy shows to focus on healing. Américo, meanwhile, has continued performing at national festivals, sparking controversy with ambiguous references to the case onstage.

The CNTV’s investigation will determine whether ‘Primer Plano’ violated broadcasting regulations regarding privacy and the protection of victims of violence. The program could face sanctions if found to have acted inappropriately.

There is a possibility that the charges may be dismissed at the finish of the investigation, so the accused should not be considered guilty until Justice issues a sentence against them.
