Providing instruction in Self Defense without Weapons. We offer both Combat Sambo and Sambo Wrestling. Preferred ages: 14 and up. Sambo is a famous combat sport that was influenced by a combination of martial arts which originated in Russia. There are various styles of Sambo but the ones that are most popular are Combat and Sport Sambo. However, the rules differ depending on the style you are practicing. Some of the most famous MMA fighters that have a Sambo background are Khabib Nurmagomedov, Islam Makhachev, Fedor Emilianenko, and Oleg Taktarov. Sport Sambo resembles Judo combined with wrestling, while Combat Sambo can be described as MMA with a jacket, combining striking, grappling and takedowns in one ruleset.
