Harry Styles’ ‘Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally.’ Debuts at No. 1 on Billboard 200

Harry Styles’ ‘Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally.’ Debuts at No. 1 on Billboard 200

March 15, 2026 David Kessler - News Editor News

Harry Styles has once again topped the charts, with his fourth solo studio album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally., debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. The album earned 430,000 equivalent album units in the United States during the week ending March 12, 2026, according to Luminate, solidifying Styles’ position as a dominant force in contemporary music. This marks a significant moment not only for the artist but also for the chart itself, representing the biggest week for any album in terms of units earned in nearly five months.

What makes this achievement particularly noteworthy is Styles’ consistent success. All four of his solo albums – his self-titled debut (2017), Fine Line (2019), Harry’s House (2022), and now Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally – have debuted at the top of the Billboard 200. This places him in an exclusive club of male solo artists who have achieved such a feat with their first four charting releases.

A Rare Feat: Styles Joins Charting Elite

Styles is only the second solo male artist to debut at No. 1 with their first four chart entries. He joins DMX, who accomplished the same between 1998 and 2003 with his first five albums. Styles is also the first solo artist to achieve this since Alicia Keys debuted her first four albums at No. 1 between 2001 and 2007. This consistent performance underscores Styles’ broad appeal and ability to connect with audiences across diverse musical tastes.

Understanding the Billboard 200 Methodology

The Billboard 200 chart isn’t simply based on traditional album sales. It utilizes a multi-metric consumption model, as measured in equivalent album units, compiled by Luminate. This system considers album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA), and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). One unit is defined as one album sale, ten individual tracks sold from an album, or 2,500 ad-supported or 1,000 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams generated by songs from an album. This comprehensive approach provides a more accurate reflection of an album’s overall popularity in the current music landscape.

Breaking Down the Numbers: Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally.’s First Week

The success of Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally. is evident in the breakdown of its first-week numbers. Of the 430,000 equivalent album units, 291,000 were traditional album sales. Streaming played a significant role, contributing 138,500 SEA units (equivalent to 140.31 million on-demand streams of the album’s 12 songs). TEA units accounted for approximately 500. The album also debuted at No. 1 on the Top Streaming Albums chart.

Vinyl’s Resurgence and Styles’ Contribution

A particularly striking aspect of Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally.’s success is the strong performance of its vinyl sales. Vinyl purchases accounted for 186,000 of the album’s first-week total – the biggest week for an album on vinyl by a male artist in the modern era (since Luminate began electronically tracking sales in 1991). This surpasses Styles’ own previous record set with Harry’s House, which debuted with 182,000 vinyl sales. The album’s vinyl sales represent the seventh-largest sales week for a vinyl album in the modern era, trailing only releases from Taylor Swift.

“Aperture” and the Lead Single’s Impact

The album’s success was preceded by the release of its lead single, “Aperture,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. “Aperture” has also climbed into the top 10 on both the Pop Airplay and Adult Pop Airplay charts and reached the top spot on the all-genre overall Streaming Songs chart, demonstrating its widespread appeal.

The Broader Chart Landscape

Following Styles’ debut, Bruno Mars’ The Romantic fell to No. 2 with 80,000 equivalent album units. Morgan Wallen’s I’m the Problem remained steady at No. 3, while Subpar Bunny’s DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS and Don Toliver’s OCTANE rounded out the top five. Several former No. 1 albums also made appearances in the top 10, highlighting the continued popularity of established artists.

Luminate emphasizes its commitment to data integrity, conducting a thorough review of all submissions to ensure accuracy and authenticity before finalizing chart rankings. This process involves removing any data deemed suspicious or unverifiable, adhering to established criteria.
