The Government of Kerala will tomorrow, March 10th, honor students who achieved top ranks in the 2025 Civil Services Examination. The event, organized under the auspices of the Kerala State Civil Service Academy, will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. This recognition underscores the state’s commitment to fostering talent and increasing representation from Kerala in the prestigious civil services.

The felicitation ceremony will be held at 3:30 PM at the Hilton Garden Hotel in Thiruvananthapuram. Higher Education Minister Dr. R. Bindu will preside over the event. According to officials, the event aims to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of these students and inspire others to pursue careers in public service. Kerala State Civil Service Academy: A Pathway to Public Service
Minister Dr. R. Bindu highlighted the Kerala State Civil Service Academy’s role in bolstering Kerala’s presence in the civil service. The academy operates with the goal of increasing the state’s representation in these competitive examinations. It provides high-quality training at minimal cost to students from all backgrounds, enabling many to successfully enter the civil service. Currently, approximately 500 graduates of the academy are serving in various capacities across different sectors. Of those who succeeded in the 2025 Civil Services Examination, 47 received training at the academy at various stages of their preparation.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) announced the results of the Civil Services Examination 2025 on March 6, 2026, with several candidates from Kerala achieving notable ranks. S. Shruthi secured the 18th rank nationally, while Siddharth M Joy achieved the 271st rank. Notably, Siddharth had previously ranked second in the Kerala Administrative Service examination. J.S. Sreeja, from Naruvamoodu in Thiruvananthapuram, attained the 57th rank, and Ajay R Raj from Kozhikode secured the 109th rank. Academy Resources and Support Systems
The Kerala State Civil Service Academy has established study centers in all districts of the state, offering a range of courses for students from high school through university level. A significant benefit offered by the academy is free training and travel/accommodation assistance for candidates appearing for the Civil Services Interview in Delhi, facilitated by a panel of experts. Financial aid, including fee concessions and scholarships, are available for students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, as well as those belonging to minority, Scheduled Caste (SC), and Scheduled Tribe (ST) communities. Understanding the Civil Services Examination
The Civil Services Examination, conducted annually by the UPSC, is a rigorous, three-stage process – preliminary, main, and interview – used to select officers for services including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and Indian Police Service (IPS). The Commission reported 1,087 vacancies to be filled through the 2025 examination.
