Ukrainian forces have, for the first time since the start of 2024, regained more territory than Russian forces have captured in a single month, according to a statement from the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrskyi. The Oleksandrivka sector is strategically important as it lies within a region Russia views as crucial for consolidating its control over the Donbas region.
