AEW Revolution: MJF vs Hangman Page – Texas Death Match Preview & Stakes

AEW Revolution: MJF vs Hangman Page – Texas Death Match Preview & Stakes

March 13, 2026 Carlos Moreno - Sports Editor Sports

The road to AEW Revolution Sunday, March 8th has been paved with animosity, culminating in a physical altercation between MJF and “Hangman” Adam Page on Wednesday, March 11th during an AEW Dynamite press conference. The highly anticipated AEW Men’s World Championship match between the two is set to headline Revolution, and the stakes have been dramatically raised. Page has wagered his future championship opportunities against MJF’s title, creating a scenario where defeat could effectively end his pursuit of the championship.

The press conference, moderated by Bryan Danielson, initially focused on the personal motivations driving the rivalry. Questions centered on whether Page was motivated by a desire for the title or retribution for MJF’s past actions, specifically his role in JetSet Rodeo losing the Trios Championships. Page unequivocally stated his primary goal remains the world championship, promising to take everything of value from MJF at Revolution. The tension remained palpable, but controlled, until a final question ignited the conflict.

When asked about the potential consequences of failing to win the AEW World Championship, Page appeared visibly unsettled. MJF seized the opportunity, resorting to mockery and offering Page a drink in a gesture of condescension. Page responded by slapping the drink from MJF’s hand, escalating the situation immediately. MJF retaliated by throwing another drink in Page’s face, triggering a full-blown brawl that spilled into the crowd and eventually toward the ring.

Once inside the ring, Page gained the upper hand, attempting to utilize MJF’s own Dynamite Diamond Ring against him. He ultimately prevented MJF from using the ring and delivered his signature Deadeye maneuver. The intensity continued to escalate as Page retrieved a barbed wire board from under the ring, attempting to slam MJF onto it. However, MJF managed to evade the attack, escaping into the audience.

The match itself is already shaping up to be a brutal affair, designated a Texas Death match – a specialty of Page’s. This stipulation removes traditional rules and allows for a more chaotic and violent contest, increasing the likelihood of significant physical punishment and potentially dangerous spots. The lack of rules also opens the door for potential interference from individuals connected to both competitors, including MJF’s previous challengers and allies of Page, such as Brody King, Bandido, and JetSpeed.

While other matches on the Revolution card feature unique stipulations – a two-out-of-three falls match for the AEW Women’s World Championship and a no time limit contest between Jon Moxley and Konosuke Takeshita for the Continental Championship – none carry the same level of inherent brutality as a Texas Death match. The desperation of Page, coupled with the high stakes, adds another layer of unpredictability to the encounter. AEW President Tony Khan is likely aiming for a memorable conclusion to the indicate, and these two competitors are expected to deliver a hard-hitting, uncompromising battle.

The outcome of the match remains uncertain, but the implications of a Page loss are significant. While AEW has seemingly learned from past experiences with restricting a competitor’s championship opportunities – referencing the situation with Cody Rhodes – the possibilities for Page, even in defeat, are numerous. He could potentially earn another title shot through a future stipulation match or challenge a heel champion for a rematch. The result will also have a ripple effect heading into AEW’s busy pay-per-view season, with major events like Double or Nothing, All In, and All Out on the horizon.

The intensity of the rivalry and the physical nature of their encounters suggest that both MJF and Page are fully prepared to push their limits at Revolution. The Texas Death match stipulation promises a savage and prolonged brawl, and the potential for interference adds another layer of intrigue. Whether Page can overcome the odds and dethrone MJF remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: the AEW World Championship match at Revolution will be a spectacle that fans won’t soon forget.
