PRINCETON, N.J. – The Brown University men’s swimming and diving team concluded its run at the 2026 Ivy League Championship on Saturday at DeNunzio Pool, finishing sixth overall with 805 points. Princeton secured the team title with 1474 points, followed by Yale (1274.50), Harvard (1173.50), Columbia (901.50), and Cornell (841).

The weekend’s standout performer for the Bears was senior Rowland Lawver, who was named the Ron Keenhold Career High Point Diver after accumulating 192 points throughout the competition. Lawver’s consistent performance across the 1-meter and 3-meter events solidified his status as one of the league’s premier divers.

In the distance events, Matt Williamson and Will Cicco delivered strong showings in the 1650-yard freestyle. Williamson finished eighth in a time of 15:04.57, closely followed by Cicco at 15:05.69. Max Hardart (15:23.05), Christian Duetoft (15:31.70), Jake Lowrey (15:34.73), and Matthew Purcell (15:36.54) also competed in the event, demonstrating the team’s depth in the longer distances.

Jake Regenwetter continued his strong performance in the breaststroke events, finishing 10th overall in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:56.92, securing second place in the ‘B’ final. Max Moore (1:58.20) and Erik Nadecki (2:00.30) also contributed points for Brown in the event.

Christopher Zhang represented Brown well in the sprint freestyle events, placing 12th in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 43.45. Donavan Jeng also competed, finishing in 44.14.

Lawver added a third-place finish in the ‘B’ final of the 3-meter dive, scoring 326.00 points. His consistent performance throughout the championship underscored his importance to the Brown diving program.

The Bears concluded the meet with a sixth-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay. The team of Marton Nagy, Zhang, Finn Quested, and Jeng combined for a time of 2:54.39.

Earlier in the meet, on Friday, Marton Nagy claimed a gold medal in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 3:41.89, breaking his own record from the previous year’s championship. Will Cicco also broke the program record in the 1000-yard freestyle, finishing in 8:55.94. Regenwetter secured tenth place in the 100-yard breaststroke final with a time of 53.50, whereas Lawver placed 14th in the 3-meter diving prelims with a score of 288.90.

The Ivy League Championship showcased a high level of competition, with several program records falling throughout the weekend. Princeton’s dominant performance underscored their strength as a program, while Yale and Harvard also demonstrated their depth and talent. Brown’s sixth-place finish reflects a solid performance, highlighted by Lawver’s individual accolades and strong contributions from several swimmers and divers.

Lawver’s recognition as the Ron Keenhold Career High Point Diver is a testament to his dedication and consistency throughout his career at Brown. His impact extends beyond his individual performances, serving as an inspiration to his teammates and contributing to the overall success of the program. The Bears will seem to build on this performance as they prepare for future competitions.
