Chelsea Green on Iconic Penta El Zero Miedo Match: “You Cannot Redo Perfection”

Chelsea Green on Iconic Penta El Zero Miedo Match: “You Cannot Redo Perfection”

February 28, 2026 Carlos Moreno - Sports Editor Sports

More than seven years after it initially captivated wrestling fans, Chelsea Green’s match against Penta remains a frequently discussed topic, with many calling for a rematch. Although, according to Green, recreating the magic of that October 2018 bout – a contest that took place under the Lucha Underground banner – is likely impossible.

“I’m telling you, Penta could make a broomstick look good,” Green stated on the WWE’s “Unreal” series. “He is that talented. It’s insane. One of the matches that I am honestly best known for on the internet is in 2018 when we wrestled for Lucha Underground together. That was probably the craziest match I’ve ever had in my career. Penta pushed me so far outside of my comfort zone. I did things I never knew I could do, and I am so grateful. I constantly hear [people say] ‘you need to have a rematch with Penta’ and we always laugh like, should we run it back? But we’re never going to run it back. You cannot redo perfection.”

The match, featuring Green as Reklusa and Penta as Pentagon Dark, was a chaotic and memorable affair. It quickly escalated with Green executing a second-rope crossbody onto Penta outside the ring. Despite the early onslaught, Penta ultimately prevailed, securing the victory with a lung blower followed by a package piledriver after nearly ten minutes of action.

The bout has endured in the memories of wrestling fans, becoming a viral highlight and a testament to the performers’ willingness to take risks. Green’s comments suggest that the unique circumstances and spontaneous energy of that night are what made it special, and attempting to replicate it would be a futile exercise.

Both Green and Penta have continued to build successful careers since their Lucha Underground encounter. Green currently competes on “WWE SmackDown,” having previously held the Women’s United States Championship. Penta, meanwhile, recently celebrated his one-year anniversary with WWE, performing on the “Raw” brand. His arrival in WWE was marked by an emotional post-match promo following a victory over Chad Gable, signaling a recent chapter in his career.

The contrasting brands they now represent – SmackDown and Raw – further complicate the possibility of a rematch. While both are under the WWE umbrella, scheduling and creative direction would need to align for such a contest to occur. Green’s assertion that “you cannot redo perfection” suggests she isn’t actively pursuing a second match, acknowledging the original’s singular quality.

The enduring appeal of the 2018 match speaks to the power of in-ring chemistry and the willingness of performers to embrace the unpredictable. It’s a reminder that sometimes, the most memorable moments in wrestling aren’t necessarily about winning or losing, but about the spectacle and the connection between the athletes and the audience.

The match also highlights the role of Lucha Underground as a breeding ground for talent that has gone on to achieve success in larger promotions. Both Green and Penta have demonstrated their abilities on the WWE stage, proving that their skills were honed and showcased effectively in the independent promotion.

While fans may continue to dream of a rematch, Green’s perspective offers a realistic assessment of the situation. The original encounter was a product of its time and place, and attempting to recreate it would likely diminish its legacy. Instead, both Green and Penta are focused on forging their own paths within WWE, continuing to entertain audiences with their unique talents and in-ring styles.

The legacy of the match extends beyond the ring, serving as a reminder of the creative freedom and innovative spirit that characterized Lucha Underground. It’s a testament to the power of independent wrestling to produce compelling storylines and unforgettable moments that resonate with fans long after the final bell has rung.
