MJF Predicts Future World Championship for AEW’s Harley Cameron

MJF Predicts Future World Championship for AEW’s Harley Cameron

March 15, 2026 Carlos Moreno - Sports Editor Sports

San Jose, CA – AEW World Champion MJF has publicly lauded Harley Cameron, predicting a future world championship reign for the Australian wrestler. The comments came as Cameron prepares for a Women’s World Tag Team Championship defense alongside Willow Nightingale at tonight’s AEW Revolution event against Megan Bayne and Lena Kross.

MJF’s assessment of Cameron isn’t simply a gesture of respect for a competitor. He believes she possesses a rare combination of skills and charisma. “I’d be shocked if Harley Cameron’s not world champion one day,” MJF stated in a recent interview with The Takedown on SI. “I think that she’s just a triple threat, and she’s got it all going on for her. And she’s tremendously, tremendously, tremendously entertaining. That answer is ‘it.’”

The champion’s use of the term “it” is significant. He explained that even as technical wrestling ability can be honed and improved – and he specifically praised Cameron’s demonstrable progress in that area, calling her “the most improved female wrestler in the world today” – true stardom requires an intangible quality. “We find certain things that you can train for, learn, and figure out as you go along,” MJF said. “However, let’s be honest. If you want to be a tippy-top professional wrestler, you gotta have ‘it.’ And you can’t explain ‘it.’ You can’t grab ‘it.’ You can’t find ‘it.’ ‘It’ is ‘it.’ I have it in droves, and I’m telling you, that girl has it in droves. And it’s only a matter of time.”

Cameron’s ascent within AEW has been noticeable over the past year. Initially gaining recognition as a compelling character, she has demonstrably improved her in-ring performance, solidifying her position as a legitimate threat in the women’s division. Her partnership with Willow Nightingale has proven particularly successful, culminating in their current reign as AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions.

The championship defense at Revolution represents a significant opportunity for Cameron and Nightingale to further establish their dominance. Bayne and Kross present a formidable challenge, and a victory would send a clear message to the rest of the AEW women’s roster.

MJF’s comments arrive at a pivotal moment for AEW, as the promotion continues to emphasize younger talent. In the same interview with The Takedown on SI, MJF expressed his enthusiasm for the current state of the AEW locker room, stating that it is now comprised of individuals who genuinely want to be part of the organization. “Right now, it’s about fresh faces. It’s about the new young guys. It’s about pushing the guys that are under 40 into emphasis,” he said. He contrasted this with the promotion’s earlier reliance on established names, suggesting a shift towards building stars from within.

This focus on developing homegrown talent is reflected in the spotlight on Cameron. While veterans like Chris Jericho, Christian Cage, and Sting played crucial roles in establishing AEW’s initial credibility, the company is now clearly investing in the next generation of stars. MJF’s endorsement of Cameron underscores this commitment.

The AEW Dynamite show on March 11th in San Jose, California, featured a number of key matches leading up to Revolution. Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli of the Death Riders defeated Konosuke Takeshita and Hechicero in a tag team match, continuing the feud stemming from a brawl on Collision. The event too saw Willow Nightingale successfully defend her TBS Title against Persephone.

Beyond the in-ring action, MJF’s remarks offer a glimpse into the dynamics within the AEW locker room. While he maintains a degree of separation from the team atmosphere, preferring to operate independently, he acknowledges the positive shift in morale and competitiveness. This improved environment, coupled with the promotion’s focus on young talent, could be a key factor in AEW’s continued success.

As Cameron prepares for her title defense at Revolution, she carries not only the weight of the championship but also the public endorsement of the AEW World Champion. MJF’s prediction of a future world title reign is a bold statement, but one that reflects his belief in Cameron’s potential and the evolving landscape of All Elite Wrestling.
