Norway Football Tickets: Prices Surge 122% for Haaland & Ødegaard Games
Oslo, Norway – The price of experiencing Erling Haaland and Martin Ødegaard live for Norwegian national team matches at Ullevaal Stadium has skyrocketed, leaving supporters facing a significantly increased financial burden. Ticket prices for the upcoming season have more than doubled in the past four years, even as the number of home games has decreased, according to a report from Dinside.dagbladet.no.
The dramatic increase comes as the Norwegian national team prepares to return home from the World Cup in the United States, and ahead of their UEFA Nations League campaign featuring matches against Denmark, Portugal, and Wales. The demand to see Haaland, fresh off a stellar season with Manchester City, and captain Ødegaard, a key player for Arsenal, is driving up costs.
In 2023, a season ticket for four home games cost 1,650 Norwegian kroner (approximately $150 USD based on current exchange rates). By 2024, that price had risen to 1,790 kroner, and in 2025, it reached 2,050 kroner. For the 2026 season, a season ticket now costs 2,750 kroner – a 122 percent increase per game compared to 2023 prices. This increase is compounded by the reduction in the number of home games included with a season ticket, dropping from four to just three.
In other words supporters now face a per-game cost of 917 kroner (approximately $83 USD), a substantial jump from the 413 kroner they paid just three years ago. A family of four purchasing season tickets will now be looking at an expense of around 11,000 kroner (approximately $995 USD).
Sebastian Husvik, leader of the supporter group “Oljeberget,” acknowledged the frustration among fans but pointed to market forces as the primary driver of the price hikes. “I understand that some find the price level frustrating,” Husvik told Dinside. “But it’s how the market works. I reckon many still aim for to be there to fill up Ullevaal.”
The Norwegian Football Federation (NFF) defended the price increases, citing the team’s growing popularity and the need to align with international pricing standards. “The men’s national team is one of the country’s most attractive entertainment products, with several of the world’s biggest football profiles,” said NFF communications director Yngve Haavik. “Compared to international cultural and sporting events, ticket prices at Ullevaal are still competitive.”
Haavik as well noted that the NFF is attempting to balance affordability with the high demand for tickets. “We are aware of the price increases and are working to ensure that there are still affordable ticket options available, especially for families,” he said.
The price increases come on the heels of a successful period for Norwegian football. In June 2025, Norway delivered a dominant performance in a World Cup qualifying match, crushing Italy with goals from Haaland, Alexander Sørloth, and Antonio Nusa. Haaland scored in that match, adding to his growing reputation as one of the world’s most prolific goalscorers. Just weeks prior, Haaland had an extraordinary performance against Moldova, scoring five goals in an 11-1 victory at Ullevaal Stadium. Martin Ødegaard also contributed a goal in that match, alongside a remarkable four goals from Theo Aasgaard.
While the on-field success is undeniable, the financial barrier to witnessing these performances live is growing. The NFF is hoping that the excitement surrounding the team’s World Cup qualification and the presence of star players like Haaland and Ødegaard will continue to draw fans to Ullevaal, despite the increased costs. The most expensive tickets are expected to sell out quickly, while the NFF aims to maintain some affordability for families and dedicated supporters.
The upcoming Nations League matches against Denmark, Portugal, and Wales are expected to be highly competitive, and the demand for tickets is anticipated to be high. Supporters who held season tickets in previous years have a limited window to renew their seats before they are made available to the general public.
