RAW Results: Roman Reigns & CM Punk Confrontation, New IC Champ & More!
RAW opened with a recap of the events from Elimination Chamber, setting the stage for a night of fallout and confrontations. The present featured appearances from several top stars, including Roman Reigns, Liv Morgan, CM Punk, and AJ Lee, alongside in-ring action and backstage drama.
The opening segment saw Paul Heyman, Logan Paul, and Austin Theory attempting to diminish Seth Rollins’ accomplishments. Heyman, in particular, expressed his disdain for Rollins, claiming he stole credit for the founding of The Vision and The Shield, and that Rollins unfairly benefited from the WrestleMania 42 main event slot. He issued a threat, promising a physical assault on Rollins the next time he stepped into a WWE ring, a guarantee backed by Paul and Theory. Their attempt to bait Rollins out of the back resulted in a chaotic scene involving multiple masked individuals and a brutal attack on Heyman by Rollins himself, who appeared from the crowd wielding a steel chair.
The aftermath of the attack saw Heyman being loaded into an ambulance, with Paul and Theory frantically attempting to assist. However, their efforts were interrupted by Jimmy Uso, who ambushed Theory, while LA Knight drove off with Heyman in the ambulance, ensuring he received medical attention.
The first match of the night pitted Gunther against Dragon Lee in a hard-fought contest. Lee immediately took the fight to Gunther, attacking him before the bell and continuing the assault around the ring. The match itself was a physical affair, with both competitors exchanging blows and near falls. Gunther repeatedly attempted to unmask Lee, a tactic that proved unsuccessful. The match continued with a flurry of action, including a suicide dive by Lee and a series of power moves by Gunther. Gunther secured the victory by submission, applying a sleeper hold while simultaneously ripping off Lee’s mask.
Backstage, tensions flared between Asuka and Kairi Sane, with Asuka expressing frustration over Sane’s absence during her Elimination Chamber match. The exchange escalated into a physical altercation, with Asuka shaking and slapping Sane before storming off. AJ Lee intervened, checking on Sane, who appeared dazed and disoriented.
AJ Lee then made her way to the ring, addressing the WWE Universe. She reflected on her return to WWE, her victory over Becky Lynch, and her newfound role as champion. Lee emphasized her commitment to being a fighting champion and issued an open challenge to anyone on the roster who believed they were championship material.
A backstage segment featured Penta being wished luck by OG El Grande Americano ahead of his Intercontinental Championship match, with Americano hinting at a future challenge. This was followed by a video package highlighting Liv Morgan’s rivalry with Stephanie Vaquer, with Morgan dismissing Vaquer’s accomplishments and asserting her own star power.
The second match saw OG El Grande Americano defeat Rayo in a contest filled with high-flying maneuvers and interference from Los Americanos. The match was characterized by a fast pace and a series of reversals. After a chaotic finish involving multiple distractions and a metal plate, Americano secured the victory.
Rusev interrupted the broadcast from the announce desk, issuing a challenge to Oba Femi. Femi accepted, leading to a brief brawl between the two, with Femi ultimately gaining the upper hand.
Bayley and Lyra Valkyria discussed their failure to secure a WrestleMania match, with Valkyria suggesting a challenge to AJ Lee as a potential path forward. Their conversation was interrupted by Iyo Sky leaving Adam Pearce’s office.
Jey Uso faced Austin Theory in a match that ended in a disqualification. Uso quickly took control, dominating Theory with a series of strikes and maneuvers. However, the match descended into chaos when Logan Paul and Theory interfered, attacking Uso. Jimmy Uso then intervened, leveling Paul, and The Usos delivered a 1-D to Theory.
A bizarre backstage segment involved Danhausen attempting to negotiate a list of demands with Adam Pearce, only to be handed off to The Judgment Day, who were visibly annoyed by his presence.
Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky then appeared together, with Ripley praising Sky’s support and expressing her determination to win the Women’s Championship at WrestleMania. Sky pledged her support to Ripley and vowed to hold down RAW in her absence.
The main event of the night saw Penta challenge Dominik Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship. The match was a back-and-forth affair, with both competitors showcasing their skills. Mysterio repeatedly attempted to unmask Penta, while Penta countered with a series of innovative maneuvers. The match was filled with near falls and dramatic moments, including interference from The Judgment Day. Penta secured the victory, winning the Intercontinental Championship with a devastating Penta Driver.
Following Penta’s victory, Roman Reigns made his way to the ring, demanding acknowledgment. However, his attempt was quickly interrupted by CM Punk, who confronted Reigns and accused him of being emotionally affected by their rivalry. Punk asserted that he had already won their WrestleMania match and dismissed Reigns’ claims of dominance. He concluded by stating that he would bury Reigns at WrestleMania, alongside his father’s legacy. Punk dropped the microphone and exited the ring, leaving Reigns standing alone as RAW went off the air.
