Dometic Enters Drinkware Market to Rival Yeti with Modular System

Dometic Enters Drinkware Market to Rival Yeti with Modular System

March 14, 2026 Sarah Wu - Tech Editor Tech and Science

Premium drinkware has become a surprisingly competitive segment of the outdoor gear market, and now Dometic is aiming for a larger share. The Swedish outdoor tech brand, well-known for its rooftop tents and electric coolers, has launched a new modular drinkware system designed to challenge established players like the YETI Rambler series. This isn’t simply another insulated bottle. Dometic’s approach centers on adaptability, allowing users to customize their drinkware to suit a wide range of activities.

The core idea behind the new collection is that a single water bottle shouldn’t be limited to a single purpose. Instead, Dometic’s system allows for interchangeability, with different lids and accessories quickly attaching or detaching based on the user’s needs. The company claims the range supports over 400 different combinations when all the components are mixed, and matched. This focus on modularity echoes the design philosophy behind Dometic’s Recon cooler range, prioritizing versatility and user control.

Beyond the Bottle: A System of Components

Rather than offering a fixed bottle design, Dometic’s system is built around modular components. Users can select from a variety of lids – designed for sipping, chugging, swigging, or straw-based drinking – and add optional accessories like straps, handles, and collars. These components attach and detach quickly, allowing for rapid reconfiguration. This approach contrasts with the more traditional, single-configuration design of many competing products, including YETI’s popular Rambler line. T3’s coverage of the YETI Rambler highlights the brand’s focus on durability and insulation, but doesn’t emphasize modularity in the same way as Dometic’s new system.

Dometic’s President of Segment Mobile Cooling Solutions, Josh Militello, explained the rationale behind the design: “People don’t live one-size-fits-all lives. So we built modular drinkware that doesn’t either.” This statement underscores the company’s intention to cater to a broader range of user needs and preferences than traditional drinkware options.

The bottles themselves utilize double-wall vacuum insulation, coupled with a copper lining to reflect heat and maintain temperature for extended periods. Construction materials include 90% recycled 304 stainless steel, and all parts are designed to be leakproof and dishwasher-safe, while remaining BPA-free.

A Growing Ecosystem and Price Point

The initial launch includes a variety of sizes and formats. Tumblers range from 350ml to 650ml, while bottles are available in sizes from 650ml to 1.2 liters. Pricing starts at £23 / $25 / €25 (approximately AU$41) for the smallest tumbler, rising to £41 / $50 / €39 (approximately AU$63) for the largest chug bottle. Lids and accessories are sold separately. Color options currently include Glow, Lichen, Ocean, Silt, and Slate, with additional colors like Elderberry and Frost planned for release later in the year.

The collection is currently available through Dometic UK, Dometic US, and Dometic EU, as well as select global retailers. Dometic plans to expand the system with additional accessories and products throughout June.

Dometic’s entry into the premium drinkware market represents a shift towards greater customization and adaptability. While YETI has established a strong reputation for ruggedness and performance, Dometic’s modular system offers a different value proposition – one that prioritizes versatility and user-defined functionality. Sportfiskeprylar.se describes YETI products as “built to withstand tough conditions,” highlighting the brand’s focus on durability, but doesn’t mention modularity as a key feature.

What’s Next for Dometic Drinkware?

Dometic’s initial launch is just the beginning. The company plans to continue expanding the drinkware ecosystem with new accessories, colors, and potentially even entirely new components. The success of the system will likely depend on how well Dometic can maintain compatibility between new and existing components, ensuring that users can continue to customize their drinkware as the range evolves. Further releases will also reveal how Dometic addresses potential durability concerns associated with the modular design – ensuring that the connections between components remain secure and reliable over time. The company’s broader strategy appears to be building a comprehensive outdoor lifestyle ecosystem, leveraging its expertise in cooling and mobile living solutions to offer a wider range of products for adventurers and outdoor enthusiasts.

Dometic’s parent company, Dometic Group, also recently published its 2024 Annual and Sustainability Report and Q4 Report 2025, outlining its overall business performance and sustainability initiatives. More information about Dometic Group can be found on their corporate website.
