The ThinkBook Modular AI PC isn’t just another folding screen or dual-display experiment; it’s a surprisingly practical vision of a laptop that adapts to your workflow, not the other way around. And after getting hands-on with it, my current laptop feels decidedly limited in comparison.

A Laptop That Reconfigures Around You

Lenovo has a history of bringing ambitious laptop concepts to MWC, often leaving observers wondering if they’ll ever see the light of day. As Android Authority noted, past concepts like the Transparent Display Laptop felt more like tech demos than viable products. This time, however, feels different. The ThinkBook Modular AI PC doesn’t shout “future tech”; it whispers “logical evolution.”

From the front, it’s a fairly conventional 14-inch touchscreen business laptop – sleek, understated, and professional. But flip it around, and the story begins to unfold. A second 14-inch display magnetically attaches to the lid, creating an instant dual-screen setup. This isn’t just about screen real estate, though. The secondary display is fully detachable, and Lenovo has designed it to be used in a variety of ways. It can be mounted on a kickstand (stored neatly under the laptop) for presentations or collaborative work, or even used as a standalone portable monitor.

But the real magic happens when you remove the keyboard. The secondary display can then be slotted into the space where the keyboard was, effectively turning the laptop into a dual-screen tablet with a wireless keyboard and trackpad. Under the Hood and the Question of Specs

Who Benefits from a Modular Laptop?

The ThinkBook Modular AI PC isn’t aimed at the average consumer. It’s targeted at professionals, particularly those who work in demanding environments and require a high degree of flexibility.
