NVIDIA and Apple are deepening their collaboration, bringing NVIDIA’s CloudXR technology directly to the Apple Vision Pro. This integration allows professionals, developers, and enthusiasts to stream high-fidelity, low-latency immersive content to the spatial computer, opening up new possibilities for applications ranging from complex digital twin creation to high-resolution gaming and simulation. The connection leverages foveated streaming, a technique that intelligently optimizes rendering resolution based on the user’s gaze, enhancing performance whereas protecting user privacy.

At the heart of this advancement is NVIDIA CloudXR 6.0, a suite of streaming technologies now natively integrated with Apple’s visionOS. How Foveated Streaming Enhances the Experience

A key component of the NVIDIA and Apple integration is foveated streaming. This technique focuses rendering power on the area the user is directly looking at, while reducing the resolution in peripheral vision. This optimization significantly improves performance and bandwidth efficiency without a noticeable impact on visual quality. Importantly, NVIDIA emphasizes that this process strictly protects user gaze data; the application never receives information about where the user is looking. This addresses a key privacy concern often associated with eye-tracking technologies. Mikael Gordh, head of Volvo Group Design at Volvo Group, stated that the company now works “digitally first,” using spatial computing and CloudXR to experience designs years sooner than previously possible. This allows for more seamless collaboration and a faster iteration cycle. Similarly, Kia is using the technology to refine its designs, enabling real-time collaboration across global teams. Karim Habib, executive vice president and head of Kia Global Design, highlighted the ability to experience proportions, surfaces, colors, and materials in a shared real-world environment.

Roche, in collaboration with Innoactive, is utilizing Autodesk Revit software, NVIDIA Omniverse libraries, and CloudXR for visionOS to simulate layouts for its biofluid analysis labs. This allows them to optimize the design of these facilities before physical construction begins. Foxconn is employing CloudXR for visionOS to visualize factory-floor walkthroughs, enabling designers to explore and optimize facilities remotely. MHP, a management and IT consultancy, is using Synopsys Ansys Discovery 3D product simulation software, Omniverse, and Innoactive Spatial, powered by CloudXR for visionOS, to simulate real-time aerodynamics airflow. Switch, a data center platform provider, is demoing an Omniverse digital twin of its EVO AI Factories, enabling infrastructure optimization within a fully immersive spatial environment.

Expanding the Ecosystem for Developers and Enthusiasts

Beyond enterprise applications, the NVIDIA and Apple collaboration extends to the gaming and simulation communities. Users can now connect high-fidelity titles like iRacing and X-Plane to Apple Vision Pro via CloudXR, creating an immersive simulation experience with uncompromised 4K resolution. This opens up new possibilities for enthusiasts seeking the ultimate simulation rig. X-Plane’s upcoming integration is a direct example of this expanded accessibility.

The availability of CloudXR 6.0 as a native streaming framework for Swift simplifies development for Apple platforms. Developers can now build and stream high-fidelity applications directly within Xcode, Apple’s integrated development environment. The visionOS 26.4 update and these applications are slated for release this spring.
