The Turkish automotive market is seeing new activity with the arrival of the OMODA 5 Ultima, the top-tier trim of the OMODA 5 SUV, now available for purchase. Customers can choose from seven exterior colors and 18-inch petal-designed alloy wheels. Automotive Production Figures in Turkey
Recent data from the Automotive Industry Association (OSD) reveals a 2% decrease in total automotive production for the first two months of 2026, totaling 215,284 units. Notably, automobile production experienced a more significant 15% decline, reaching 120,823 units. Despite this drop in car production, the commercial vehicle segment showed positive growth, with overall production increasing by 20%, heavy commercial vehicles by 35%, and light commercial vehicles by 19%. Total production, including tractors, reached 218,703 units.
Export figures also reflect a mixed picture. Total automotive exports decreased by 9% compared to the same period in 2025, while automobile exports fell by 23%. The total export volume reached 144,357 units, with automobile exports at 72,150 units. However, the total Turkish automotive market saw a 3% increase, reaching 168,595 units, while automobile sales themselves dipped by 1%. According to data from the Uludağ Automotive Exporters Association (OİB), automobile exports in the first two months of the year increased by 1% to $1.7 billion. Both main industry and supply industry exports saw increases of 12% and 7% respectively, measured in dollar terms.
