Samsung Wins 77 iF Design Awards 2026, Including 2 Gold Awards

March 6, 2026 Sarah Wu - Tech Editor Tech and Science

Samsung Electronics has been recognized for design excellence, receiving a total of 77 awards at the prestigious iF Design Awards 2026. This haul includes two Gold Awards, presented for the innovative Music Studio 5 speaker and the thoughtful Sustainable Design Identity for Home Appliance Accessories. The iF Design Awards, a German international competition founded in 1953, evaluates designs across nine disciplines, from Product Design to User Experience, assessing differentiation and impact.

Beyond Aesthetics: A Human-Centric Approach

According to Mauro Porcini, President and Chief Design Officer of Samsung Electronics’ Device eXperience (DX) Division, today’s design transcends mere product form or user interface. “Design shapes meaningful experiences that resonate with people,” Porcini stated. “Human-centered design will remain at the heart of our efforts — deepening immersion and advancing responsible innovation.” This philosophy is evident in the award-winning designs, which prioritize user needs and sustainability.

Music Studio 5: Where Form Meets Function

The Music Studio 5 speaker, a Gold Award recipient, initially presents as a classic rectangular form. However, closer inspection reveals a finely perforated grille concealing high-performance audio units. Dynamic front lighting provides intuitive function identification, and the overall design integrates seamlessly into any living space, resembling a piece of art. Notably, the speaker similarly features wireless connectivity with Samsung TVs via Q-Symphony technology, promising a more immersive home theater experience. Samsung Newsroom details the speaker’s design elements.

Sustainable Design for Home Appliances

The second Gold Award acknowledges Samsung’s Sustainable Design Identity for Home Appliance Accessories. This concept introduces a color-coded system for appliance accessories – such as vacuum cleaner and air purifier filters – based on maintenance needs and disposal methods. This intuitive system simplifies accessory recognition and promotes responsible product lifecycle management. This approach aims to make it easier for consumers to understand when accessories need replacing or updating, contributing to a more sustainable user experience.

A Broad Spectrum of Recognition

Beyond the Gold Awards, Samsung received accolades for a diverse range of products, including televisions, smartphones, and digital displays. The S95H OLED TV was honored for its ultra-slim, bezel-free design, creating a premium, picture-frame-like aesthetic. The Galaxy Z Fold7, Samsung’s latest foldable smartphone, was recognized for its thinner, lighter design and advanced features. SammyGuru highlights these product-specific awards.

Innovation in User Interface and Smart Home Integration

Samsung’s commitment to innovation extends to software and smart home integration. The Samsung One UI 7, featuring AI-powered enhancements and a bolder design, received recognition for its improved personalization and user control. Samsung Home Insight, a smart home feature that analyzes appliance status and usage patterns to provide personalized recommendations, also earned an award. These advancements demonstrate Samsung’s focus on creating a more intuitive and connected user experience.

The Vision AI TV and Spatial Signage: Immersive Experiences

Further expanding its portfolio of award-winning products, Samsung’s Vision AI TV, with its adaptive AI interface, and Spatial Signage, a glasses-free 3D display, were also acknowledged. The Vision AI TV dynamically adjusts its interface based on how the user is interacting with it, while the Spatial Signage offers a novel immersive visual experience. These technologies showcase Samsung’s exploration of cutting-edge display technologies and user interaction paradigms.

Movingstyle: A Lifestyle Display on the Move

The Samsung Movingstyle, a lifestyle display designed to accompany users on the travel, also received an iF Design Award. This portable display offers a unique viewing experience, adapting to the user’s movements and providing a versatile entertainment solution. Branding in Asia confirms the award for this innovative display.

Looking Ahead: Continued Focus on Human-Centric Design

The 77 iF Design Awards reflect Samsung’s dedication to a human-centric design philosophy, demonstrating how technology can enhance quality of life. The company’s commitment to innovation extends beyond technological advancement to encompass responsible design and sustainability. Samsung’s design teams will likely continue to prioritize user needs and environmental considerations in future product development, building on the momentum of this latest recognition. Further refinement of AI-driven user interfaces, like One UI 7, and exploration of immersive display technologies, such as Spatial Signage, are anticipated areas of focus. The company’s ongoing investment in sustainable design practices suggests a continued emphasis on eco-friendly materials and responsible product lifecycles.
